Shane, are you getting small stutters (feeling like an uneven frame rate) or are you getting 3 second pauses? Does it seem like model load (it only happens once) or does it seem to happen more often? Can you try disable of the sound and let me know if that clears you problem as well? It could be that some of our sound files upset the decoder somehow. or are large and causing loading pauses, I don't know.

Will check it out.
My stutters are 1 second pauses which will continue as long as I keep playing... or minimize the game. Doesn't affect anything but the speed; I can save fine.
The stutters seem to begin exactly at the flash of light when exiting capsule space.

And not all capsule jumps. But Hoel Lpoint? I will try to get it to happen. Let me know if disabling sound has any effect.

Disabling sound makes it better, but the problem remains.
The stuttering now lasts only for about 5 seconds, then stops on its own. Typically about the time some traffic jumps in behind me.
I believe this indicates my slowdowns are due to an underpowered system. Otherwise, dropping the audio load would not have helped.

Happens occasionally at every L-point I regularly travel, but particularly when jumping back into Alcuin. Are there any extra scripts running in Alcuin that wouldn't be present in other systems (Bedalov, Emerald, Huang, etc.)?And not all capsule jumps. But Hoel Lpoint?

No. But the sounds are different than the ones in Emerald. We are moving around a lot of sound objects now. Which puts many more sounds into the "channel mixer". I don't know much about Direct Sound. Does it use hardware mixing? Or does it try to emulate the feature in software? That could be part of the problem.
