Buda5 InGame ReadMe
__________________________________

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND WILL AFFECT YOUR GAMEPLAY!

WARNING: Installing Buda5 InGame WILL OVERWRITE certain game files!!! It is recommended that
you install a fresh version of Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos, patch it, and THEN install
Buda5 InGame. Do otherwise at your own risk.

WARNING: After Installing Buda5 InGame, the copy of Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos Buda 5
InGame has been installed to WILL NOT FUNCTION without the Buda5 InGame CORE package selected!
__________________________________

--> Buda5 InGame replaces all ships, stations in the Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos main
campaign with Babylon 5 ships, stations. This also includes mission specific ships.

--> Also included are several choices for the player ship. Some of these ships are also
available in Instant Action Mode.

--> Buda 5 InGame also replaces menus, music, text, HUD elements, sounds, backgrounds, and
interfaces in Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos.

--> Installing Buda 5 InGame will add a new .exe file to launch Independence War 2: Edge of
Chaos: Buda 5 InGame Edition, and will add a folder in your program files folder called Buda 5,
where a link to that .exe will be located.

--> To activate Buda5 InGame, go to START > Programs > Buda 5 > Buda 5 InGame > Play Buda 5
InGame. In EXTRAS section, by default, the Buda 5 InGame Core package is selected, as well as
an Earth Alliance Starfury as the player's ship. The Buda 5 Core package is labeled
"Buda5InGame Core".

--> To choose your player ship, browse through the available player ships. A Buda5 InGame
player ship will begin with the label "Buda5InGame ". For example, if you want to choose the
whitestar as your player ship, the mod you would select is "Buda5InGame Whitestar". This will
replace the command section in the main campaign with the Whitestar, and you will activate it
just as you would any normal ship mod.

--> You can change your player ship at any point during the main campaign by selecting a
different Buda5 InGame Player Ship mod. WARNING: it is not recommended that you select a
player ship mod not specifically designed for Buda5 InGame.

*****IMPORTANT*****
--> Due to the nature of Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos, YOU MUST select the "Tug" from the
Hangar before you save your game. This avoids having the game crash when you reload the game
with a different player ship selected. The "Tug" is not replaced at any point with Buda5
InGame, so this provides a stable environment for game saving.

--> There are several known issues with Buda5 InGame that cannot be solved, they are pointed
out here so that you may expect them:

1. During the main campaign, you may be asked to pilot your "command section" for a mission.
The Earth Alliance Crew Shuttle Player Ship was designed specifically to be used in this
instance.

2. During the main campaign, you may be asked to pilot your "tug" for a mission. The
"Buda5InGame Tug Whitestar" player ship was designed specifically to be used in this instance.

3. During the main campaign, you may need to launch your vessel with cargo attached. Since
command section is not capable of carrying cargo, every NON-FIGHTER Buda5 InGame player ship
mod replaces the Advanced Patcom as well. This vessel IS capable of carrying prelaunch cargo.

4. During the main campaign, you may need to use a specific Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos
weapon. The Advanced Patcom (replaced by your NON-FIGHTER player ship selection) is equipped
with a weapon mount for this instance.

5. Since there are no "Mega Freighter Pods" in the Babylon 5 universe, they were never created
for Buda5 InGame. Therefore they will appear as standard Babylon 5 cargo pods. This means however, that there will be no door animation with these "megapods", nor will with a "megapod" look exactly plausible/perfect.

6. In a specific mission in act 3, a megafreighter is used to transport you to a specific
location. The placement of the "megapods" is hard coded in the mission script and could not be
changed. Therefore the freighter will look odd, but it will still function properly.

7. During the main campaign, you will be given a heavy corvette during a mission. Because of
mid-game switch, your new vessel is hard-coded to be a whitestar.

8. At the end of each mission, the player's ship docks with Lucrecia's Base. The position at
which the player's ship docks to the base is hard coded and cannot be changed. This may result
in odd images while docking as Babylon 5 does not have the same dimensions as Lucrecia's Base.

9. Other issues may be added at a later date.

This was the precursor to a story they were going to write for this thing, but they never did it. I don't use this mod anymore, since it depresses me, knowing what could have been. :-(
All in all, what there is is excellently done. The ships look exactly like the ones in the show. The battles feel like the ones in the show. Only a few engine limitations here and there glare at you.
