Problem with ship menu

I just installed Torn Stars and am going through the walkthrough. The problem is I can't open the ship menu. Everytime I hit "o" I get an error message, something to the effect of "No UniGUI menus available" or something like that. Any ideas?

Yes, this is a known bug. You must exit the game to desktop and restart.

It happens when you use the "Escape Key" to open the option menu and change the sound volumn or graphics options. It is an EoC bug that we cannot fix.

Another thing that can cause this bug is if your system somehow tries to use the command twice in rapid succession. It opens and closes the menu instantly, and the error-catching routine assumes that the menu exploded.
