So I did the thing with the AIs and $20 of cheap, open-weight compute. I'm an ML scientist, so I can write walls of text all day about this stuff, but I know most people aren't interested, so let's get to the results.
The result is on the one hand an extensive documentation project, built from the original game assets locally on you machine (and supports a handful of mods). To build the documentation, you need ghidra-headless and the original assets. The library is agent-friendly; point an agent at it and ask questions and it will be able to answer deep technical questions about the game; the POG script, the glue and VM layers, or how the mechanics of story missions work.
On the other hand is a cross-platform compiler/decompiler written in Rust that preserves resolved symbols (you still need the headers) and has a bit better byte-exact turnaround than the pc.exe/community decompiler route. It's not extensively tested; there may well be weird agentic quirks in the code that I haven't seen.
Both these projects have zero users as of yet, so they are very much in the "works on my machine" stage.
