There is still a gui for handling pod storage, left over from the original game which you can still open from within the hangar

Yes, I'd love to save some pods-sometimes things really do fall off the back of a megafreighter. I'd like to mark them and collect them for later use. I tried to do that with some mercury and some other things but I guess they were stolen.

When I was playing Torn Stars last night I kept hitting the same loose crate again and again coming out of an L point - not sure if it will be there today when I load up however.
