I tried to install the Jackson Yard Patch but it didn’t go very well.
My game version is the one from GOG.
Seems it is a completely different version number.
I also saw it was trouble to install it in the Steam version as well, but hold and behold, I found your reply schmatzler…

Question on version
Anyone know if the Jackson's Yard fix is in the steam version and if not what has to be done to make the jacksons yards fix patch work since it claims that EOC is not even installed.

The version is the same as on GOG, so the Jacksons Yard patch should be included.
Official patches won't recognize the game, because they forgot to add a registry key to this version. -.- But you don't need them anyways.

thanks for the information. now i just need to find time to get back to this game
Okay, seems I got my answer.
The only thing is, you say “should” so now nine years later, are you more certain?
No worries, I will play the game and see what happens when I get there.
So I had some questions but will answer them myself and you can correct me if I’m wrong…
Q. Is the Jackson Yard Patch only needed for the Retail version?
A. Yes.
Q. Is the Jackson Yard Patch already patched in the GOG and Steam Versions?
A. Yes.
Q. If the Jackson Yard Patch is not added in the GOG and Steam versions, how can I make it work?
A. No need for that, it is already added, for real, I mean it.
The image below shows what happens when I tried it (notice the insane version number I have)…
So if that is the case, that the Jackson Yard Patch is included in the Gog and Steam version of the game, would it be appropriate to insert that information where you can download the patch and say it is for the retail version only.
Schmatzler, is that something you can confirm with GOG and Steam team?
Another annotation;
I can see that the Free Form Mode is indeed integrated in the GOG version and probably in the Steam version as well, so a note there would be nice too.
Same goes with the EoC Patch Ver F14.6 - 10 October 2001, it’s only needed for the retail version.
Maybe it could be said something like this:
“Only for retail version, patch already included in digital versions”…
Or something similar.
Is this entire a good thing to do or am I utterly confused?
