Game locks up under XP, not a sound problem

Well for about 2 months now I had been getting this damn pop up telling me that essential windows files had been replaced with unrecognized versions and that I needed to put in the windows XP CD to fix it. Well I tried that but didn't fix it, even tried a dynamic update using the CD, and triple checked that I downloaded ALL of the windows updates but nothing took it away. However, ever since I wiped the drive and reinstalled windows I havn't gotten a single message, so I'm assuming the problem was linked directly to that, though why it specifically messed up with the cargo pods I'll never know. Don't suppose you know how to make the pinguin/drones work properly with the unleashed mod do ya? hehe

Yeah sometimes you just can't tell about these things. I'm happy that the game is working properly now, thanks for all your efforts to try and help.
