Act 3 Mission 4 - Capture the Accelerator

After I reach the L-Point and beat the few incoming Marauders, I have to take down the LDA field inside the jump accelerator, but I've found it impossible.
I get inside the "cilinder" and try to sub-target the field generators, but the jump accelerator has no sub-targets and the only main targets are the L-Point, two friend fighters, Lucrecia's Base and the Jump Accelerator. What do I have to do to avoid the convoy to crash onto the LDA?
Do I need a special weapon? Or I'm missing some passage so that I can't get my "job" well done?

You cannot subtarget the field generators. So you must turn off the auto-aim and shoot the field generators (lights) manually. The cross hair mod helps. Cutting beams work pretty well.

Just to clarify; the field generators are the little blue lights inside the accelerator. IIRC, about midway between the rim and the shield.

Hi and welcome to the forum, Spike.

One Deathblow missile does a pretty good job on them all in one shot (aim for the middle of the interior of the jumpgate), if you like the more refined and subtle approach.

First of all, thank you everybody.
I've already tried turning off the auto aim, but shooting at the small "antennas" doesn't give any result.
So I tried shooting all around the external hull, but obviously nothing happened.
Then I tried to shoot at the center of the field, that white spot in the middle and even to crash onto it with my aggressor shield...nothing.
I think I will try with the deathblow missile.

Ah .. 6 neutrom PBCs. Theres your problem, the emitters you have to hit are tiny, I've never been able to hit them reliably with anything other than a beam weapon. Of course, a deathblow works as well.
