Uhm... I realize that my Gnat didn't work as well, but i myself discovered that trick after doing the mission... I'll replay it when i replay the game with yout mod... Or will it be useless? I suppose you have enhanced the gunstars and stations systems... :p

oh its enhanced, but its not undoable. That mission is their really to train you in how to fight stations and stuff. In mymod the gunstar is a cheap old-style PBC turreted one :P.

Oh yeah, and gnat/hammer/billzard have 40 isntead of 20 shots each.

A smart way to get rid of the gunstar: a REM missile exploding next to the gunstar gives it a kick and it starts to move away.

Most effective way is described by Major Tom: throw a pod at the station. Dock to a pod, gain some distance to the station, turn around and override towards the station (maybe with a little help from F6?) - undock the pod at 10 to 8 km distance and get the hell out of there...

In the soon forthcoming StarWars mod, you'll be able to use a very simular method to bomb stations when you're in the B-Wing and Tie Bomber. You won't have to dock to the bombs first, or use the undock key to drop them, but aiming and timing is much the same.

You might as well get in some practice now ;)
