Manual Docking?

I heard that manual docking was possible, can someone tell me how it's done?

I don't know of any way to do this in EoC, though it was possible in I-War and Defiance -- are you sure you're not looking at a source for one of those?

In IW1, you could do it by aligning dock ports manually and thrusting very carefully towards the target.
