I-War Kickstarter?

I remember that Stephen Robertson posted in the old Atari forums, but now are closed. I would like to know is is there any chance of an I-War kickstarter project... something like a "spiritual sucessor".

I'm sure that many fans could back the project.

There have been similar questions in GOG.com's I-War forums. The rights to the I-War universe are in the hands of Michael Powell - joint Director of Particle Systems. He is the only person who can either give his Go for a KS campaign or even start one himself.

I was late in finding this forum and the game had waned by the time I got here. Are there any other games like Edge of Chaos Independence Wars?

there seem to be several games that feature Newtonian space physics, but unfortunately they don't show the same quality and none of them revolves so much around piracy, as Brian from Space Game Junkie pointed out:
