I wouldn't suggest it. If you do that, you'll unzip all the orriginal files over the patched files. You'd completely undo the patch

Actually, most of the patch was in the bin folder, but yes, you do partially unpatch your game by unzipping the resource folder to your install directory. If you want to do that, then do it before installing the patch. If you need to reinstall the patch, open regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Particle-Systems\Edge of Chaos\settings
and change version to A(hex) or 10(dec).
