I-War 3 a possibility

Hmm... Freelancer? I'm surprised you never heard of it. If they don't mess it up my guess is it's gonna be a great game. Very open ended, great universe, and everything, only thing that worries me are the damn controls, the game was designed to be played with a freaking mouse, although there's gonna be joystick support. I think it's scheduled for release this fall. You can find more info here:

I heard of it, but last I heard it was cancelled. That was a long time ago and it looks like they charged there minds. Thanks for reminding me of that game. Still it’s a short list.
We only have these open-ended space games to play now
Elite 1, 2 & 3
I-War 2 (is 1 open-ended?)
Privateer 2 (Was 1 any good?)
And these to look forwarded to.
Freelancer
I-War 3 (small possibility)
Elite 4
So did I miss any?

Re:
23 years 8 months agoI've never played it myself, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the first I-War was ordered missions and not open-ended. You couldn't fly around wherever you wanted.I-War 2 (is 1 open-ended?)

In I-War 1 You were generally free to explore the systems the missions took place in.
You could also use a command -lagrange to activate a 'set destination' button on the starmap so you could jump to whichever system you wanted.
However the content was entirely mission oriented.
