Tutorials

I was wondering, are there any sites or people that could tell me how I would go about creating a basic Andromeda mod for EOC? My expertise, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, is probably a 0 or -1, but I would definitely be interested in learning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi William, and welcome to the forum.

There is a serious effort going into making a 'Everything you ever wanted to know about modding EoC, but were afraid to ask' book right now by second_chance and several members of the modding community, including input by one of the game's creators, Stephen Robertson. Unfortunately this book may be several months before its available.

There are a few tutorials right here at this sight in the modding links, and lots more expertise in the mods forum below this one. Just dive in, try a few things, and then start asking questions. The best first step will be to acquire and become familiar with the tools necessary for what you want to do. One of our current resident experts was a self-described 0 or 1 on your scale just over a year or so ago (I may be overstating that Shane, so I apologize if I am), so don't get discouraged. Just keep working at it.

Drop down into the mods forum. Post up a sketch of what you would like to see you mod do. Different features need different kinds of mods and tools.

Not at all... except I would not call myself an expert. There are many areas in EoC modding I am lacking in.
