FireCon Sensors?

FireCon Sensors: what are they?

They're not in the Encylopedia at all, from what I can tell.

They're listed by the Inventory Manager as Cargo / Weapon Systems / Spacecraft Weapons.

Are they an important trade item? Why does the Encyclopedia not have an entry for them? Are they bugged, or is there some backstory-related reason they're not in the Encyclopedia? (Invented after it was written, etc.)

they are a cargo type, they are in the encyclopedia but they are listed under spacecraft weapons, in the commodities section(im pretty sure),but they dont have a definiton and they dont have an ingame effect, i.e. you cant use them in your ship loadout. at one point or another during the SP game you can trade them for another cargo type but im not sure what type

I think they are the "Weapon link" you use with key X if i remember well. Just try: load and old savegame in which you dont have bought them and try, you'll receive "Wapon link not installed". If the FireCon are those "Weapon link", the allow you to switch between chain and salvo fire mode.

No, weapon link is a seperate piece of equipment, firecon is just a cargo type.
