Frustration with missiles

While I wouldn't recommend relying on this too much, I've had pretty good luck (probably pure dumb luck) by turning to face oncoming missile and spraying the area with gattling cannon or rapid fire pbc fire, while side slipping. Its kinda cool to watch the missile blow well before it hits you. Then again, it can be less than fun to realize you've missed, and you're about to eat some high explosives.

The other tricks in this thread work, but keep in mind that you have to be patient, and learn the tricks and skills of piloting the ships well in this game. The tug is a pig, no matter how you slice it, so the best way to avoid missiles while flying it, is to not provoke their launchings in the first place. Pick your targets carefully.

I've had pretty good luck with your method too Hot4'.
Sometimes I just toggle Aim Assistent off, turn to face the missile, hold real still so it comes straight at me and blast away (but you gotta grit your teeth too or it won't work)
