Split off from the LEGO thread //schmatzler

I played 1 battle of MWO. My starter mech faced off against incredibly well armed Atlas mechs. I uninstalled. :|

Very little about the game is not known to me. Any questions you got, throw them at me. :)

Tyutyu, what's your name in MWO? And what is your clan called (I assume you don't play alone)?

Exactly. MWO is a hot mess of grinding and pain; not fun at all.

...unless you play in a fixed group (called clan, you may have heard about it), which is when it becomes fun - like any multi-player game does. MWO is NOT the game to go solo and fight on your own. After you've learned that the hard way, you'll notice that the game is actually fun, despite its flaws.

a) I know what clans are ^^ .

b) I was already a clan member.

c) New users are unlikely to be a member of any clan.

There is NO balancing at all, that I've seen. MW4 was great, because everyone immediately had access to all parts and chassis; the only limiting factor was your skill (or lack thereof). Grinding is annoying enough, but when it's while playing vs. 14-year-olds with 100s of hours in the game and/or "super wallet soldiers" who simply bought their way into better gear with actual money, it's just not even remotely fun for me.

The Mechlab is also a sad joke.

"Free to play" is also, nearly universally, "pay to win". Meh. I would have happily paid for MW5, or even a better-balanced version of MWO. That's not going to happen.
