Over the last few months, we received an increasing number of users reporting that Edge of Chaos runs way too fast on their system. We figured out that the game calculates its physics based on the speed of your processor. Sadly, this calculation breaks around a threshold of roughly 4.294 GHz - back in 2001, no one expected to have a processor this fast. To be more precise: The total frequency of your CPU (base clock × multiplier) should not be greater than 2^32 (which is roughly 4.294 GHz).
We are investigating possible solutions at the moment. Unfortunately, the only workaround we've found so far is to lower the FCH Base Clock (BCLK) in your BIOS to get below the threshold or run the game in a VM. You can participate in a discussion on Reddit here.
If you have the technical knowledge and you are able to fix the game to work on these high clockspeeds, please help us out!
