I've read lots about why there's no gatling gun, and other super weapons. Well then why do all the pirates have an inexhaustible supply of IDS disruptor missiles? If I can't have a gatling to finish em' off with, they ought not to have those. The idea of the LDS disruptor is fine, it's just that if I turn off flight-assist and zip off 40+ kms away, with pirates no longer on sensors, how is it that they can reach me with a disrupter?
Got to dig up my old anti-LDS mod: places play ship forward by 10000km so you can use the LDS to escape.

Trust me, that has annoyed me as well. In the new balance for Unstable Space, the player and npc ships will be essentially equiping the exact same weapons. I also removed the lds engine from LDSI missiles. However, I believe the npc's ldsi missile attack is scripted, so getting around that may require more than simply removing the lds engine.
