Cockpit Question

Hi,
First thanx for great mod - i satarting feeling Elite near it is great. I love Freedom as in Elite. I always wonder if exe can support different Cockpit model for each ship - i know threre is one cockpit avatar in dat files somewhere so i am not sure if different cokpits can be linked to diferent ships or command sections.

I play cockpit view off. The cockpit moving at a different speed turning confuses me while turning the ship.

The Star Wars mod team has found a way to change cockpit models on any ship. Getting them to explain how it is done, and then makeing a different cockpit model is a different matter...

WOW cool. Yeah i know there is way to change current cockpit model avatar but it will staz same for all ships. So you mean they made dufferent pit for different ships? so no need replace pit model bz hand but exe handle this somewhat via ini files or simmilar hell?

If yes i am ready to try make 3d pits for different command sections or ships - i think models are done in Lightwave? I using Milkshape but it must be easy to convert into another format.

Please, Any link to that Star wars mod site or download and any tutorial how import 3d models into game?

If you are really interested in doing it, post there and in the 3D modelling forum here. I am sure one of the Star Wars team will pop by. I think Major Tom or Second Chance worked out the method. And their method does allow us to attach different models to different ships.

I like your dream too! It would definitely improve the feeling of flying different ships in the game. If you could do it we could add it into our Torn Stars: Traffic mod
