Sorry, I was in a rush yesterday and didn't explain:

The advantage of a dedicated server is much like you reported on your LAN experience: You can leave the server running while you (as a client) exit the game to switch ships, go get more cargo, go play on another server, ect.

The main point is however that you have control over the server via the console: To shut down the server you type "quit" (without the quotation marks) into the console and the server (even with XP!) really does shut down.

How do I host a dedicated server?
The general manual (even in german) doesn't explain it.

You have to create and run a command line (shortcut on your desktop) for the loader.exe.
It's described in the word .doc in the readme folder in the Epic Online mod: EpicOnlb/readme/english/general.doc . See page 3.

Just follow the instructions there and you'll be set up in 5 minutes.

I changed the map of the dedicated server, but in cargocapture there are no pods to get.
Neither at the "red" opponents base, nor at the Maas Station.

I'd like to get some equipment for my spider tug:)

Do you mean the "Pirate Stash" map.

The stuff is hidden in the asteroids between the Alpha shipyard and the weapons plant.

You have to get close enough to the pods. The one in the asteroids are low signature and only have a sensor range of 10 km.

The ones at the weapons factory and Mass comodities have a rang of about 25- 30 km.

Edit:
the range for the pods at the stations are 35 km (not 25-30)
Note
If you changed the "first map" map in flux.ini in the section [icServerApp] you also have to change the "first Package" (script) to the corresponding package for that map.
You also have to change the section [FcServer] too.
Theoretically you can (on a dedicated server only) run a trade script together with the Capture map. But then the pods you are looking for wouldn't show up.
