jojo: oho, am I enjoying. I got the game a week ago and I'm on act 2 mission 4. And I'm a decent pirate: value <2058000 so far.
Are there any mods to stay awayfrom, or are they all fairly safe?

Because of EoC's structure, all the mods are very safe. I've never installed anything that made a shambles of the program. The only thing a mod may interfere with is the missions in the single player game, so it's best to play through originally with no mods active.
