manufacturing upgrades?

perhaps I missed something, but then again I'm impatient. Can you manufacture an upgrade, like from CPU 1 to CPU2? Are there 'blueprints' for such tasks, or must you always trade for them. (I'm guessing you cant manufacture software, though, right? ha ha : recycled research data + shipping manifest = cargo extrapolation program )

I'm afraid not. The blueprints in the game only cover ammo, missiles, flares, and t-fighters. The other stuff you'll have to trade for.

good point, shane: but can you manufacture gattling cannon ammo?

as a follow up: is there a way to rid oneself of equipment you'll never use again? I.E. the twinpack launchers, or a light PBC. Not that I really care, its more of a 'cramping my style' thing.

It is possible to manufacture gatling cannon ammo, you'll have to trade for the blueprints.
There is no way in the game to get rid of old stuff, at least in the unmodded.

The future trader mod allows you to trade with stations, but in my oppinion it somewhat spoils the game by making it to easy.

My advice is play the game and enjoy, everything will come at the right time, or just a little to late;).

And then, after the game ends, go into Free-roam mode (via the mod, located in the downloads section of this site). Then you can sell all that junk and make a surprising profit.

Then, if you're like me, you'll get tired of all the trades for cryo pbc's and the like that are still on the trade screen. So make trades for them (you get them really cheap on the trade screen) and then so resell to the stations.

You will make tons of cash!
