Away to raid freighters & megafreighters.

I dont know if this would be obvious to everyone, and that really im just telling you something you all know. But here is a really good tactic to raid heavily defended freigters and mega freighters, without even offending the escort, and all you need is an aggressor shield / navy version. Hang around an L-Point untill you see a ship that takes your eye. Fly about 10 km away from it and activate your approach autopilot. (incidently, it helps if its stopped in the que,) Start flying towards it, after a couple of km's turn off auto pilot making sure ur still heading 4 the ship. Use thruster override to go much faster. Then just befor you hit the ship, engage your aggressor shield. The idea is they are damaged enought to drop their pods, you survive thanks to the shield. (It takes awhile to workout the right speed so you dont destroy yourself.) And the AI of the escort dont mark you as hostile as they think its just another collision.
