Need help with flares

PLease understand that I bought this gamne straight from Atari and it came with no manual. I cant seem to laucnh flares from my tug when a missile is locked on me. I know I have the 20 X Flare pack installed. No key seems to do it. WHen I did instant action they seemed to be part of my weapons cycle, and I could laucnh them manually. But I cant laucnh them in the campaign and my ship doesnt seem to do it automatically. Help?

It does launch them. They have a slow refire rate. You cannot launch them manually. It was such an issue that the developers released a manual counter measures mod. You can find it in the mods section of this site.

HI, I looked in your mod database..there are a dozen or so mods listed and none that I could see had a manual countermeasures mod. Can you point me to the link? Thanks?

Scroll down slowly. About the 3rd group of mods down are all made by Particle Systems. And manual countermeasures is in that list.
