space stations

is there any reasion to dock at space stations other than when your asked to for a specific mission?
is there any use for disused space stations ie take over, distroy for parts yada yada?

In Edge of Chaos, no, there's no purpose to dock at space stations except for missions, sadly. If you wanted my guess, they probably intended to have something a lot like Torn Stars (or even Freelancer) in the default game, but scrubbed it due to development time constraints. This is definitely just idle speculation, though...
