remote missiles

i assume you know that if you choose to detonate a remote missile while it still didn't hit anything you also fire from the ship's main weapon cannons accidently. this problem may look pretty stupid to you but because sometimes i do this and all the ships or stations nearby get red and really pist off on me. so is there another way to detonate rem missiles besides the fire button?

I think they also detonate if you break the REM link.
