Frequent disruptions

I have just started the game. After I arrive at Touchdown for the first time, I experience disruption after disruption, for no apparent reason. I can't beat the pirates who attack me because of the disruptions. Any advice?

Unfortunately, you will have to fight these people, there is no escaping them as far as I know, it is part of the story. I don't think they use disruptors so early in the game, I think what you might be referring to are the LDS missiles? if this is the case, your speed is limited right? so you will have to use your maneuvering thrusters(wasd) to increase speed and move quickly enough to fight the pirates.
