weapon link

I'm upto act2 and accidently pressed the F key. I get the message "weapons link not installed". Will this eventually become available or have I missed something? While I'm at it what do the Firecon sensors do (can't find them in the encyclop.)
And finally will I ever be able to trade for disrupters as I've ran out?

1. weapon Link you will eventually get
2. Firecon Sensors, don't bother with them, you can't add them to your ship and I'v never had a mission our trade where someone has specifically asked for them.
3. you can buy and eventually build once you have the blueprints.

I believe that at some point, you can trade to get firecon sensors and then trade those back for something else.
