Faction constantly hostile?

Don't rush this stage, Ataraiym. This was one of the most enjoyable parts of the game for me. I assume you only brought in a few pods and made a few kills because you kept dying and having to start over? I enjoy the realism that you are not the strongest thing in the world, and have to be very careful who you pick a fight with. Just get what you can, and as you upgrade your weapons and develop new fighting strategies, you will be able to take on more, and will die less.

If you want something slightly easier, Touchdown L-Point is one of my favorite places. SOLAN corporation ship through there, and there's no base. They use Storm Petrels for escort, so you should only take on ships escorted by a single one, since those buggers are tough. But there are no Marauders there.
The Stepsons also use it, so it's nice to see a friendly ship passing by.
