REM'ing it way ot there.

Just for fun I tried to see how far you could travel with a modified REM link, at current point i'm parked at Lucresias Base, but controlling a Heavy Corvette through the REM link in the Mwari System.
It gives a hole new meaning to the words Remote Control.:D

I tried that once, but obviously didn't set the max REM link distance far enough as the tug I'd REM hacked disappeared half way through capsule space between Batalas and Formalhaut! Kind of crashed then as it just kept going through capsule space with no ship and the Esc key didnt do anything (had to close it with task manager).

Only problem doing that is you can't capsule jump with REM ships, unless you hack them just before they are about to jump, but then you're stuck in the system you jumped to <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

How do you change your REM distance?

If you want to change the REM distance you have to open the flux.ini file and find the part that says "max_rem_range = 50000".
The 50000 being the same as 50 km, then you just change it to something more your liking, oh and remember to make a backup that's allways a good idea.

Oh about the remote link, if you have the REM Hacker mod you can even REM link to cargo pods, though I doubt they have LDS drives.:D
Makes it a lot easier to dock with a pod if it's to close another pod or ship.
