Did EoC ever have a script when developed?

When EoC was in production (and I-War for that matter), was a movie-script ever written? One which layed out the general missions and flow of the story? When a movie would play and so on? Or did the development document cover these things?

If any of this stuff exists, would it be possible to see it?

Who decided what type mission would be created and where it would be placed?

And, does anyone know of any links to articles which feature how EoC and I-War were made? It'd be cool to see what steps and processes EoC went through in its creation.

Thanks. :)

I have one for a nifty old short interview with I-War 2 Producer Roger Godfrey and Lead Programmer Dr. Derek Marriott. It's mostly about the flux engine though.

It's here:

There was a script - multiple scripts, in fact. There was also a huge flowchart written by the lead designer.

You'd be amazed how much was cut out of the game - an entire 4th act for one.

I still have my original dialogue script print out for I-War defiance too, the one I used in the dialogue recording sessions.

Thanks Second Chance. That was a great link.

@ Stephen;

Wow. Is there any chance of us ever seeing something like that? Or, do you know of some great links to the production of I-War and EoC?

I'd love to learn more about the development of this series. You're quite lucky to have been in the thick of it. ;) I'm a little envious.

I do feel quite lucky to have worked on several great space-sims, but you'd be surprised how much hard work it takes, plus things still make it into the final games that you desperately wish you'd been able to fix or change.

I've still got quite a bit of design material from the games, but I doubt it'll ever get released. The rights issues are a bit complicated.
