Game wont load after install.

First off: hiya all , newbie here

second: i installed iw2 onto my computer after digging the copy out. The install went fine. But when i clicked on the .exe file and selected play from the loading screen (that comes up with the engine noise) nothing happens. I click play and nothing at all! How come?

I got win XP Pro, 1.4 P4. 128 meg Rambus. Nividia Ti 128 meg 4200 graphics.

Anyone know why iw2 Eoc is doing this?

PS: this problems work even with the patch to the game.

what about GGD's? i dont know 1.) how to see if they work or not or if indeed its the Graphics that is the problem and 2.) i dont know where to look to find a solution.

Hi Rusti, welcome to the board:)

For installation you need an install disk, but for playing you'll have to insert the game disk.
You should get a reminder.
The CD Drive is working fine with other games?
After running the EoC.exe check your taskmanager. (ctrl+alt+del)
Is the game showing up?
Run "dxdiag" - any hints?
Have you tried to reinstall the game?

I noticed the play disk has lots of 'powdery pattern scratches' like abrations across the surface of the disk.

I may have to get a disk repair machine to fix it.

but ill try the idea above first.

There are no-cd stuff for EoC. I use it.
