Sound Problem

the music files are .mp3, the speech files are .wav

maybe your winamp or realplayer "keeps" the .wav-files?
Did you consider that?

Well I uninstalled Winamp and made sure that RealPlayer didn't have .mp3 files associated. It seems that I do hear speech more often, but the few times I do, the game lags a lot.

oops - make sure the realplayer doesn't keep the .wav files:)

Check flux.ini and flux.log - maybe you get a hint
