No one believes me that Palapin is Palpatine's little brother (born by one of the Imperators concubines). His identy was kept so perfectly secret, that apparently I'm the only one who knew about it :D

:D Ah, so Palapin is another Sith Lord.

I couldn't think of any names of the well known charachters on the Imperial side, so I made up some. What names could we use?

  • Admiral Thrawn (known from the SW Trilogie by Timothy Zahn and from TIE Figher, so he's very popular)
  • General Tarkin (Episode III, Commander of Death Star I)
  • Mara Jade (Dark Jedi before she comes to the good side like Darth, known from the SW Trilogie by T. Zahn and from Jedi Knight)
  • Boba Fett (head hunter)
  • Jabba the Hutt (though I don't want to imagine how he fills out a Tie Fighter ;) )
If Boba and JtH aren't the best we could the Commanders in EpV (Hoth) or EpVI (Death Star II), but I don't remember their names now


Rebels:
Han Solo
Luke Skywalker
Lando Calrissian
Wedge Antilles
Chewbacca
Mon Mothma (head of the rebels)
the Calamari General (don't remember on his name now)

Is there a good reason we should do the work?

k, thanks, Thrawn and Tarkin are in the list together with Palpatine and Darth (we'll put Mara Jade on the reserve list untill we get an E-Wing)

The Rebel names, with exception of Lando, are all already in there.

Roi, the code I sent you yesterday for testing the score screen will end the game after 5 minutes. You can change that in ServerMain, look for iMultiplay.SetTimeLimit (300); (time is in seconds)

btw; I thought Boba Fett, wasn't really an Imperial? Just an opportunist/mercenary working for the whoever paid best?

Yes, he is a freelancing Head Hunter and not an Imperial, but he is one of the bad guys. So just for the case if there'll names left I mentioned Boba Fett and Jabba.

I disagree! The lightened colors make the screens much more pleasant to read. They look excellent! And great job guys, on getting all those other score bits in there. If room is a problem, why not just make the wide shady bar as wide as the screen. That's what I did when I needed more room.

I can't believe you needed SW names and didn't ask me! I can give you nice long lists of genuine Imperial and Rebel members. Save the mercenary and neutral names for future use, or use in the trade game. I'll put together a list today.

And Roi, the Mon Calamari you're thinking of was Admiral (not General) Ackbar. :D

Question: Why do you guys refer to Palpatine as Imperator? An Imperator is an army commander in the Roman Republic. Palpatine was Emperor, and had no actual military afiliations.

Yes! This was my whole point in that past discussion.

imo we shouldn't add the ship type to the Score screen because that might cause some unnecessary discussions about who is "allowed" to fly which ship type on which team.

Why are you so worried about things like this, MajorTom? If this is how a particular team plays, they're going to do it whether the ship names are posted or not. I really think you worry too much about offending the players. If winning a particular scenario requires a certain type of strategy, or for players to fly (or not fly) a certain type of ship, then you have to trust them to rise to the occasion. I understand that you want to make the players happy and let them have fun, but some people just can't do certain things very well. If a guy is a lousy CUV pilot, then he shouldn't be flying CUVs. And on my team he wouldn't be, whether the score screen showed it or not. And the easier you make it for them to do things they shouldn't, the less fun the more capable people are going to have. It all goes back to my earlier point about what it means to be on a team. There's a big difference between being on a team and flying solo (so to speak). Being on a team means doing what's good and right for the team, and not just whatever the hell you want to do. If a guy really likes to fly the bomber, but sucks at it and constantly causes his team to lose because "he wants to fly the bomber!" then, for the good of the team, he needs to suck it up and fly something else. He shouldn't be "allowed" to fly it. But he can practice until he's better. I think it would be great to get a quick look at what ships each team used. It's not important to have, but we certainly shouldn't discount it for fear of the rise of evil team leaders telling their team what ships they can and can't fly.

Well, that's my two cents. You can take it or toss it, I'm chock full of opinions. :D

Well, when you could tell how you did this? I didn't find a way to influence the wide of the shady bar manually.

@Palpatine: In the german version Emperor Palpatine is called "Imperator", b/c Emperor and Imperator is translated "Imperator" in german.

Of course, you could set the ShadyBar width using any units you like. I just happen to like setting GUI dimensions based on a percentage of screen size.
