You could always use one of the modellers that can load lightwave objects. The collision hulls have no special surfaces or textures, so there shouldn't be any problems

Take a look at 3DExplorer under the mod tools .
You can't edit, but if you used it in conjunction with notepad, you could see the result.

Or to find the names of freighters, look in resource/sims/ships/utility. Note that this means looking in the resource.zip unless you've unzipped it.

As for the new freighter, are you refering to the one RazorJak came out with on ina? It can be downloaded here: home.adelphia.net/~chplucas/file ... lossus.zip

Anywhere as long as it's not in the main game directory, as you will overwrite any modification's the patch's have made.
