I am trying to think of different scifi themed songs here is what i have so far

Red Barreta - Rush
2112 - Rush
Children of the sun - Billy Thorpe
Mr. Roboto - Styx

Actually, Rush's Red Barchetta is about a car. And a story every American muscle-car gearhead wishes would happen to him. [8D]

Look to 70's hard rock and early metal for tons of sci-fi themed songs. There wouldn't even be enough room to list them all here. Or for more modern fare (off the top of my head):

Monster Magnet - Space Lord (among others)
Mongo City (can't remember the band name)
Jimmy Buffet - Desdemona's Building A Rocketship
The Queen soundtrack album to Flash Gordon (oops, not modern)

Are you looking for spacecraft or sci-fi to be mentioned specifically in the song, or just an association with sci-fi (like the entire soundtrack to Heavy Metal and Heavy Metal 2)?
