The Aerospace Mod replaces all of Edge of Chaos starships, only space objects, containers, and starbases remains. About 30 new accuretely detailed Battlespace ((C) by Wizkids) fighters, dropships and jumpships comes with this mod fitted with new, more deadly weapons. With the pack comes a new universe; the periphery section of the Inner Sphere (the World of Battletech), outward of the Ghostbear Dominion. Of course all of the factions are replaced.
The story:
In this new environment you will pose as a fighter of the Clan Ghost Bear, tasked to protect the many transport ships of the Ghost Bears, carrying civilians and supplies from the Clan Space to the Ghost Bear Dominion. There are allies like the Diamond Shark, but ferocious enemies want to destroy you and your fellow clansmen. Comstar, the Draconis Combine and the so called new Star League is waiting for you...From the abandoned former SLDF base, (recently reactivated and named Ursa Major) you will commit space-strikes agains all hostile territories.

Because of the limitations of the engine - and my lack of POG experience - I couldn't reproduce the interstellar jump technology of Battlespace; so not only the jumpships, but all ships can jump. There are other simplification, sometimes made for playability, or sometimes I couldn't do other. The not-complete list:

System jump points have to connect two system body. I choose to make them to represent the so-called Oort belt in the perimeter of the system. Of course real Oort belts cover the entire system, and are much more farter from the system center.
The Zenith and Nadir jump points are not on Zenith and Nadir. I tried this, but they were almost unrecognizable on the map, so I gave up, and made them in the ecliptic.
The stations are very similar to real Battlespace stations, so I didn't changed them.
The EOC's LDS drive is considered the Fusion Drive of the spacecrafts. When you are in LDS, imagine, that you are in accelerated time mode, flying with the transit drives of your ship.
From the 26 starsystems there are only few really on the Battletech maps. The BT's universe descriptions says that there are a lot more stellar systems and only the most importants are displayed on the map. So I decided to make some more. But to make the game enjoyable, I populated all of the systems with stations (they generated space traffic); more than the sourcebooks suggest.
The ship types are coarsely fitting. So don't be surprised, when you met with a clan leopard or buccaner (because they are star league era ships, the clans likely to use them also), or IS aerospace fighters in clan colours. The contrary is also expectable, I have one time spotted a comstar visigoth... This is due the limitation of the engine; I tried to swap all ships with the most fitting Battlespace counterpart, but EOC fetchs the freighters from a common pool, and in some cases the fighters also. Thats it folks.
There is a much more bigger traffic, than it's expectable. This was made purely for the sake of playability. Cruising for hours, and not meeting anybody is not a too big fun.
This time there are no missions. Maybe later...And I couldn't replace the multiplayer ships also. (Next project will be the multiplayer I promise!)
Have fun fighting the evil Inner Sphere:-)
